The P76 Force 7 Coupe is so rare very few Australians have heard about it, let alone seen one! The car had only just gone into production when Leyland announced the company’s closure in Australia. Sadly, the Force 7 never made it to the showroom. All the cars went to the crushers, with the exception of ten examples that were auctioned off to private buyers with compliance plates removed. Despite the circumstances, the Force 7 was an amazing car, with dramatic styling well ahead of its time. In the lead up to the coupe’s expected release in September 1974, motoring journalists were impressed with the car’s ride, handling and performance. This innovative coupe was in fact the first Australian made car to feature a hatchback door and fold-down back seat.
The Trax Select model is an exceptional replica of the only Force 7 variant made, the Force 7V – a sporty, mag-wheeled version with 4-speed manual gear box and 4.4 litre alloy V8 as standard.
