Peter Brock and the Holden Dealer Team in the VH Commodore finished 3rd in the championship in 1983. The start of the season included reliability problems that saw him in 9th place mid season, failing to finish Calder and Symmons Plains with a gear box problem. However, Adelaide became the turning point with an all-the-way win, then he achieved 2nd place in the next two rounds at Surfers Paradise and Oran Park and drove one of his greatest races in very difficult wet conditions in the final round at Lakeside. The race saw him battling Moffat and Johnson at the beginning of the race, but from there own they didn't see him for spray! He ended the season with a win and earned him 3rd place in the championship.
