The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is one of the most known street legal modern super sports cars of the 21st century. Design under the supervision of VW, the car broke numerous records. The most noticeable is the passing of the 400 kph mark and this model portrays all the glory and style of the 1:1 car.

In 1988 Volkswagen acquired the former sports car manufacturer Bugatti. In 1999 they presented four concept cars on various automobile shows.

On the Frankfurt car show Butatti presented the concept car Bugatti Chiron 18.3, which was quite similar to the Veyron. On the Tokyo motor show later that year the Veyron concept car was presented under the name Bugatti Veyron EB 18.4, it was equipped with an 18 cylinder engine which was later mounted in the series production.

The decision to develop the Veyron was taken by Volkswagen in 2001. In August of 2003 the first prototypes were ready made. Apart from some minor details the car was almost identical to the final release. The development was very difficult since the engineers had to overcome several significant technical problems. As a result the final assembly was postponed numerous times and finally started in Septemter of 2005.

It develops 1,001 HP, which allows the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 to reach a top speed of 407 kph. In order to make sure that the car stops in a timely and safe manner, it was equipped with all around carbon ceramic brakes. For its 100th anniversary in the year 2009 Bugatti released an exclusive version of the Veyron, named Bugatti Veyron L'Edition Centenaire as a homage to the racing legends of the 1920s and the golden ages of motor sports.
