The first Superscale 48-215 appeared in June 2005 and was typical in every way of the actual car. The colour chosen was Burley Cream - a shade popular with conservative car buyers of the 1940s. Inside, the trip was red and contrasted nicely with the painted dashboard and black vinyl floor coverings.
The appearance of 'Australia's Own Car' in 1948 has been commemorated countless times. Yet, after more than 60 years, grainy photographs and old newsreels of the event remain iconic for local car lovers.
With a rudimentary but durable body/chassis design and an engine to match, the 48-215 series (colloquially known as the 'FX') provided six seats and six cylinders for only slightly more money than the then market-leading Austin A40.
