No matter what model, the early Holden Utes maintain a keep following amongst Aussie motoring enthusiasts. The 2106 Utility benefited with many of the upgrades of the sedan, however rear styling was continued from the earlier FE and FC models.

Trax delivered the first utilities of this series in two of the most popular colours of the FB's era. TR73 came in Colleen Green with a grey interior while TR73B had a Grecian White exterior with the cabin trimmed in red. The steering wheel showed the new dished design that appeared with the FB range while the tray interior showed the heavily ribbed front bulkhead and timber flooring. The FB utility also became the earliest Trax Holden to feature an exterior rear view mirror. Other significant details included external tailgate hinges and fresh air-vents between the windscreen and bonnet that replaced the air-intake flap used on earlier Holdens.
