The HX Statesman De Ville and Caprice Models were released in July 1976. A more formal grille with updated badge work was adopted but the biggest update was to the engines offered across the range. Emissions regulations saw significant changes and re-tuned 5.0 litre V8, and like its long wheel base predecessors, the car was marked as a statesman rather than a Holden.
