The 1978 Bathurst 1000 was a historic race, marking Brock’s third Bathurst victory and Richards’ first. Despite a poor start due to a differential issue, Brock fought back and took the lead by lap 34, ultimately winning by a full lap ahead of Allan Grice and John Leffler’s A9X.
